Water Saver Toilets:
Dual-flush, low-flow toilets
Description:
Since we all flush the toilet an average of five times a day, finding a way to reduce the amount of water per flush would obviously save a lot of water. Dual-flush toilets have two buttons. Low-flow toilets use 1.6 gallons or less per flush, and the second button, for flushing less difficult items, uses only .8 gallons per flush. In a city of 500,000 that is a potential savings of five million gallons a day.
Advantage to user:
We need water to live. Conserving water is by far the cheapest way we have of assuring we have enough to live.
Savings to pocketbook:
Lower water bills, lower taxes. Treating water is expensive and it takes a lot power. Reducing the amount of water we use reduces the amount of power we use to treat it and move around.
Savings to the planet:
Clean water is vital, both for humans and for the environment, as well as our economy. Wasting this precious resource simply makes no sense.
